The much-anticipated new BJ’s Wholesale Club at Beachwalk has opened its membership center in anticipation of a winter grand opening — and early birds get a discount.
The center is open for business from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
To promote the new outpost, BJ’s is offering new signups a basic annual pass for $25, and $70 for a higher tier Club+ membership.
The 104,000 sq. ft. warehouse will feature fresh produce and a bakery, in addition to grocery items, homewares and electronics.
BJ’s has 244 clubs across the country, and the Beachwalk location will be Florida’s 41st location.
A Palm Coast location is slated to open next week.
Founded in Massachusetts in 1984, the company’s name refers to the initials of Beverly Jean Welch, the daughter of the club’s first president.
He opened his first brick-and-mortar location in Springfield in 1981, and the brand has expanded rapidly.
