Thanks, mom.

New England Patriots football player DeMario Douglas — a St. Augustine native and former standout at Pedro Menendez High School — brought his mom to tears over the weekend after surprising her with a brand new Range Rover.

In a touching video posted to Instagram, a friend of Old City resident Angie Mack can be seen asking her to come meet her in a parking lot because her car broke down.

The oblivious mom then pulls up to meet the woman as she stands next to a car with its hood up.

Someone then holds up a pair of keys.

“Run down there and get your new one,” a woman deadpans as Mack slowly realizes the ruse.

After scanning the parking lot, she spots a glittering white Range Rover with a red bow on the hood and breaks down in tears.

“Oh my God!” she says before doubling over with joy and jogging over to the SUV.

Weeping in disbelief, Mack drapes herself over the hood and climbs into the driver’s seat as her friends share in her tears.

The video ends with her driving away.

“My baby bought me this!” she screams.

“While the gift itself is incredible, what brought me to tears wasn’t the car,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was his heart.”

Douglas, 24, grew up in St. Augustine and attended Pedro Menendez High School before transferring to Mandarin High School in Jacksonville his sophomore year where he played with Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.

After three stellar seasons, the speedy wide receiver went on to play four years at Liberty University where he would eventually earn All-American honors as a return specialist.

Considered undersized at 5 feet 8 inches tall, Douglas was drafted as a late sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

But the elite route runner — known as “Pop” — has since sprinted past all expectations, becoming a featured receiver with the Patriots.

“I love you, son,” said Mack, who tirelessly raised Douglas and his sibling as a single mother while toiling in finance. “More than words could ever express.”
