Supplies have been gathered to help moms across the area.

They’re being showered with kindness.

Local businesses and residents are wrapping up a unique community-wide baby shower event aimed at helping young mothers in need across Northeast Florida.

Organized by Stratton & Company Retirement Financial Strategies and Ponte Vedra Connection Magazine and Business Networking Group, the campaign has gathered a vast array of baby and toddler essentials from across the region throughout the month.

The final collection will take place on Wednesday during the Ponte Vedra Connection Networking Breakfast at RISE at Nocatee, where business professionals and donors will drop off last-minute items.

Donations include baby clothes, diapers, toys and other essentials, which will be delivered to Trinity Rescue Mission in Jacksonville for distribution to single mothers and families ahead of Mother’s Day.

“Our goal has simply been to provide support to mothers who could use a hand right now,” said Sam Magdalein, partner at Stratton & Company. “The response has been encouraging, with many families participating and local businesses helping spread the word.”

The drive has seen participation from more than 50 businesses in Ponte Vedra, Palm Valley, Nocatee, Palencia and surrounding neighborhoods.

Organizers say it’s been a galvanizing example of how small but focused local efforts can collaborate for a broader impact on their region.

The distribution event will take place on Friday, May 9, at Trinity Rescue Mission’s facility on West Beaver Street in Jacksonville.

Donations will go directly to mothers currently served by the mission.
