St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for a goggle-wearing bank robber who raided a St. Augustine Ameris location Wednesday morning.

In a Facebook post, SJSO reported that the suspect hit the bank at 4070 US-1 South around 10:50am to 11am.

The department released a photo of the suspect wearing gogles and pointing a firearm at an employee.

There were no injuries, the agency said.

It remains unknown if the robber made off with any proceeds or if words were exchanged with employees.

“If you were in the area between 10:50am-11am and witnessed anything suspicious, please call SJSO,” the agency wrote.

Ameris has more than 200 locations across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, according to the bank’s website.

The Citizen will update this story as details emerge.
