Cops shuttered St. Augustine City Hall Friday after a worker fell from a ladder in the building’s courtyard and suffered life-threatening injuries, officials told The Citizen.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Chris Naff said the middle-aged man — a private contractor — was transported to Flagler Hospital in critical condition.
The ladder, Naff said, was about 15-feet high.
Rescue crews rushed to the scene and administered aid before transporting the victim to the hospital.
In a Facebook post, the St. Augustine Police Department announced that City Hall would close at noon and reopen on Monday due to a “construction accident.”
The Citizen will update this story.
