A woman remains in critical condition Sunday after nearly drowning in the ocean in front of the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
A lifeguard pulled the unidentified victim from the surf and administered lifesaving measures before she was rushed to a local hospital.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at roughly 12:30 pm.
In a separate incident nearby, a 20-year-old man remains missing after getting caught in a riptide at Mickler’s Beach Sunday afternoon.
Multiple agencies were dispatched to locate the unidentified man, who was described by St. Johns County Fire Rescue as Hispanic.
