A high-speed motorcycle chase through Ponte Vedra Beach ended abruptly in the parking lot of Fresh Market earlier this month, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The chase began around 9:07 a.m. on March 10 when deputies noticed a green 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle with no license plate speeding southbound on A1A from Corona Road.
The operator, a 23-year-old Jacksonville resident, was reported riding without a helmet and ignoring traffic signals.

A depuity first attempted to stop the motorcyclist, activating lights and sirens. The suspect refused to comply, speeding off with the cruiser in hot pursuit along the busy road.
Another deputy joined the pursuit near A1A and ATP Tour Boulevard, with the rider making dangerous maneuvers including a U-turn into oncoming traffic, court papers state.
The motorcycle briefly left the road, riding across grass behind a Daily’s gas station.
The chase reached its climax in the Fresh Market parking lot at 840 A1A, where deputies finally stopped and secured Vasquez without incident.
Authorities confirmed the suspect did not have a valid driver’s license in any state.
He also had multiple prior citations in St. Johns County for driving without a license.
The motorcycle was unregistered, and the suspect was arrested for fleeing and eluding law enforcement, driving without a valid license, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
He was booked into St. Johns County Jail, with no bond set, and the case is pending.
