St. Johns County football teams are spread across the statewide rankings with the season in swing, with two local powers leading the way, according to Massey Ratings.
St. Augustine is setting the pace locally, climbing to No. 16 following back-to-back blowout wins. The Yellow Jackets have been sharp out of the gate and now sit comfortably inside the top 20.
Nease gained ground as well, climbing a spot to No. 42. The Panthers whacked rival Ponte Vedra and then erupted for 50 points in a rout of Creekside.
The Sharks bounced back nicely with a decisive victory over Bartram Trail, but still slipped one spot to No. 61 in this week’s update.
