The RCLCO consulting group has released its midyear master planned community sales rankings, and both Shearwater and Nocatee made the list.
Notching 473 sales halfway through the year, Shearwater checked in an #9, while Nocatee was #36 with 263 closings.
A total of 12 Florida planned communities appeared on the list, with The Villages taking the top spot with 1,515 sales through June.
Texas had the highest number of entries with 23, comprising nearly half of the entire roster.
Midyear planned community sales were consistent with the same period in 2023 despite high interest rates and growing real estate headwinds, the report noted.
But the study predicted a “modest forecast” moving forward due to declining single-family permitting, which has dipped for five consecutive months since a January peak.
“However, as a ‘safe haven’ for consumers when markets slow, the outlook for Master-Planned Communities specifically may be viewed with more optimism as evidenced by the stronger performance of Top-Selling MPCs so far this year,” the report said.
