Chef Michael Lugo blasted a patron Saturday for tossing a lamp off the rooftop of his restaurant Pesca in Vilano Beach.

There’s a lamp lout on the loose in St. Johns County.

An unnamed patron at Pesca’s Rooftop in Vilano Beach chucked a table lamp off the eatery’s outdoor deck, according to a social media post.

Chagrined chef Michael Lugo posted video of a middle-aged man in a white shirt blindly tossing the illuminated device onto the street below.

A second man in the frame appears to celebrate the buffoonery, playfully patting him on the back and giving him a high five.

Lugo wasn’t amused by the juvenile antics, writing on Facebook that the lamp could have struck and injured someone below.

“This great human thought this was funny,” he wrote. “The people in valet getting their car did not. Why anyone would feel the need to damage our property and also risk hurting other people is beyond my comprehension.”

Lugo included several grainy pictures of the man taken from surveillance cameras — along with a video clip.

“Let’s make him famous,” Lugo wrote.

In a follow up post, Lugo wrote that the man had been identified as a British national in America on a work visa.

Lugo declined to name him, but said law enforcement is probing the case.

The restaurateur extended an olive branch to the halogen hooligan, writing that he would agree not to press charges if he apologized and did some hard time in the kitchen.

“If he owns up to his mistakes and comes in like a man and apologizes I will make a deal of him washing dishes one shift or I press charges,” he wrote. “Maybe he will get some humility.”

  1. I’m so disgusted by the way grown adults act like spoiled teenagers now. So disrespectful and dangerous!!

I hope the owner presses charges. Obviously this guy needs some consequences.

We value all our local restaurants and appreciate them so much! Especially ones with rooftops and patios!!

  2. Love the Kitchen punishment/sentence – this offer says a TON about Mr. Lugo – he’s a guy who knows how to handle a situation, and I wish him the BEST with his business. I have eaten there once, and we really enjoyed it. After he serves his kitchen sentence then kick him out 😉

  3. I will head over to Pesca and enjoy an evening with my family at an establishment owned by a Chef who knows how to handle a situation with class.
