A crew of thieves trekked from Miami to St. Augustine to burglarize a local building supply company in a brazen crime caught on camera, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

Dressed in black, the trio tried to pry open the gate to ABC Supply Company on Dobbs Road late last month before jumping a fence and breaking into the business.

Surveillance video shows the suspects trying to force open a safe with an axe at one point.

SJSO said they punched holes through walls to access different areas of the property, and eventually cut into the safe, eventually making off with $500 in cash and credit cards.

One of the wall punctures busted a water line and flooded the floor, resulting in $30,000 in damage, police said.

The intruders fled the scene in a black Ford F150 before deputies arrived and searched the area.

Attempts to track them down with K9 units and drones were unsuccessful, and the suspects remain at large.

“Investigative efforts show the suspects drove from Miami to St. Johns County to commit the crime,” SJSO said in a release on the incident.
