Upscale home furnishings chain Turner Home is planning to build an approximately 50,000-square-foot project across the street from a Nocatee waterpark, filings show.

According to a building permit application submitted this month, Turner Home is proposing a sprawling new store on vacant land on Crosswater Parkway, about a half mile east of the Nocatee Splash Water Park and next to a St. Johns County Fire Rescue Station.

The plans indicate a 32,018-square-foot main building, a 7,947-square-foot garden center, a 10,064-square-foot storage area, and 80 parking spots.

The project is currently under review by St. Johns County.

The land in question is owned by Sonoc Company LLC, which is affiliated with the Davis family.

The new location in the heart of the popular master planned community would be Turner Home’s third store in the area.

Turner Home has locations at 784 Marsh Landing Parkway in Jacksonville Beach and 6205 Florida 216 in St. Augustine.

The company also operates several Ace Hardware stores across the area.

Known for its handcrafted indoor furnishings to coastal-inspired outdoor pieces and accessories, Turner Home has built a loyal following in the region.

The venture is the second major project coming to stretch of road near Nocatee’s signature waterpark.

Work has begun on a mixed-use development next to the Starling Assisted Living facility, including an 11,875-square-foot commercial building and an 123,000-square-foot self-storage facility.

The commercial structure, which will host multiple tenants, will be 30 feet tall and the self-storage facility 60 feet tall.

The six available retail slots are currently up for rent, and no tenants have yet been announced.
