Goodwill Industries of North Florida is set to unveil a larger St. Augustine store and its first GoodCareers Center in St. Johns County this week in a major expansion of their local operations.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting is set for Friday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at 135 Epic Boulevard, with the new facility combining a retail store, donation center and career services hub under one roof.
The Epic Village store replaces Goodwill’s current location at 2005 U.S. 1 South, which will close once the new site opens.
Organization leaders say the move offers the community more shopping space, upgraded donation facilities and access to free career development programs.
“Our move to Epic Village allows us to better serve the St. Augustine community in a whole new way,” said David Rey, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of North Florida. “This isn’t just a new store — it’s a community hub where people can access career support and vital services alongside convenient donation drop-off and affordable shopping.”
The GoodCareers Center inside Epic Village will be the first of its kind in the county and the seventh across Goodwill’s 14-county North Florida region.
Services include career coaching, résumé assistance, skills training and job placement — all free and open to the public.
Friday’s event will feature giveaways, music and complimentary refreshments. The first 50 shoppers will receive $20 Goodwill gift cards, and organizers say a special guest appearance is also planned.
Goodwill officials said the relocation underscores the nonprofit’s mission to provide affordable goods and workforce support while reinvesting 90 percent of revenue into community programs.
