St. Johns County has swept the local player and coach of the year awards from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Decorated Ponte Vedra High School head football coach Steve Price, widely credited for moulding the Sharks into a consistent winner, was named the Jacksonville Jaguars 2025 Whataburger High School Coach of the Year.
As part of that recognition, he was also selected as the Jaguars’ nominee for the NFL Don Shula High School Coach of the Year Award.

The Jaguars select their nominees from high school programs across the Jacksonville metro area, including Duval and St. Johns counties.
Named for former Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula, the award honors high school coaches who demonstrate leadership, integrity, commitment to education, player safety, and on-field success.
Price, who has steered the Sharks program since 2021, has more than three decades of coaching experience in Georgia and Florida.
Ponte Vedra finished the 2025 season with an 11–3 record and advanced to the Florida Class 5A state semifinals before their season ended.
Dynamic St. Augustine wide receiver and Miami commit Somourian Wingo was named the 2025 Jaguars Whataburger All Prep Player of the Year after another standout season with the Yellowjackets.

Starring for Head Coach Brian Braddock, he recorded 46 receptions for 846 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 18.0 yards per catch this past year and will soon take his talents to Coral Gables.
