Rest easy, carne conneisseurs.

The proprietors of a popular waterfront St. Augustine restaurant have purchased the property they were previously leasing for $6.8 million, a manager confirmed to The Citizen on Thursday.

Ardent fans of Asado Life at 173 Shipyard Way were initially concerned that the transaction meant that a new eatery was imminent.

But a staffer said the Argentinian meat specialists are now more entrenched than ever after picking up the scenic 1.2-acre parcel perched along the St. Augustine Shipyard on May 15.

The open-fire dining restaurant officially opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant in May 2023 after building a loyal following with its popular food truck and pop-up dinners.

Located on the San Sebastian River, the restaurant blends Argentine-inspired live fire grilling with local ingredients, offering a unique and rustic culinary experience that centers around communal dining and smoke-infused flavors.

The surrounding area has seen rapid development in recent years, with the development of a new marina and apartment complex.
