Mahan faces up to 20 years in prison.

A 26-year-old Flagler County man was hit with felony video voyeurism raps for placing hidden cameras in the bedrooms of his ex-girlfriend and her 18-year-old daughter, according to a report.

Jonathan Bernard Mahan, 26, of Bunnell, had recently moved out of the home he shared with the 43-year-old woman after a six-year relationship, according to Flagler Live.

She and her daughter told cops that they discovered one camera in each of their bedrooms—one placed on the daughter’s dresser near a television, and another on the mother’s dresser.

While Bunnell Police Lt. Shane Groth was interviewing the mother and daughter, Mahan arrived at the house and immediately admitted the cameras were his, the outlet reported.

He claimed the camera in the mother’s room was meant to confirm suspicions she was seeing someone else, and said he placed the other camera in the daughter’s room years earlier, when she was 15, to monitor her boyfriend’s visits—again without anyone’s knowledge.

Mahan initially told police he had not recorded or viewed inappropriate content, but later evidence contradicted that.

Investigators found he had viewed a live feed of the daughter while she was topless, five days after she turned 18, and had saved screenshots.

Police recovered the cameras, along with two laptops and two iPhones. Days later, the mother also found four old photographs of her daughter, taken when she was 15, in Mahan’s former bedside table.

He now faces up to 20 years in prison, though a plea deal is likely due to his lack of prior record.

He is also charged with unlawful use of a two-way communication device. His first pre-trial hearing is set for July 23.
