A Ponte Vedra Boulevard oceanfront estate once listed at a record-setting price is now under contract, signaling one of St. Johns County’s most notable luxury home deals of the year.
The Ponte Vedra Boulevard property first hit the market in March 2024 for $23.25 million, a figure that would have surpassed the county’s single-family home sales mark if achieved.
The Tuscan-style mansion, belonging to the late Rodney Slifer—a revered Vail, Colorado, businessman, real estate pioneer and civic leader—was later adjusted to a $21.25 million asking price, where it currently stands under contract.

Slifer, who passed away in February 2024, was a central figure in the growth and identity of Vail, one of the world’s most celebrated ski destinations.
As founder and longtime principal of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, he helped shape the region’s real estate landscape and twice served as the town’s mayor.
The Ponte Vedra property—represented by Jennifer White of Ponte Vedra Club Realty—offers 100 feet of beachfront and sits steps from the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
Built in 2008, the 8,282-square-foot residence features six bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and elegant Mediterranean-inspired architecture on a 0.77-acre lot.
Should the pending sale close near its current list price, the transaction would rank among the most expensive ever in St. Johns County.
The current residential sales record was set in January 2024, when former T-Mobile CEO John Legere purchased a nearby estate at 349 Ponte Vedra Boulevard for $22 million.
