Tim Tebow—who starred as quarterback at Nease High School—has been named the greatest college football player of the 21st century by Bleacher Report.
Tebow, a three-year starter for the Panthers, threw for 9,940 yards with 95 touchdown passes and rushed for 3,169 yards with 63 rushing touchdowns during his prep career.
In his senior season, he led the Panthers to a 13–2 record and a state championship, earning Florida’s Mr. Football and All‑State honors.
But Tebow launched his true ascent to near mythical Sunshine State in Gainesville.
He led the Gators to two national championships (2006, 2008) and won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 as a sophomore.
He captured the Maxwell Award in both 2007 and 2008, the Davey O’Brien Award in 2007, and the Manning Award in 2008—while also being a three-time AP All‑American and 2007 AP College Football Player of the Year.
Bleacher Report cited Tebow’s combination of statistical output, postseason glory, and famed leadership as the key factors that earned him the top spot.
Earlier this year, the Associated Press named Tebow the first‑team quarterback on its All‑Time All‑America roster, reinforcing his place among college football’s elite.
