St. Johns County deputies shot and killed a man in St. Augustine Friday after he rammed a police cruiser with his truck, officials said.

Officers responded to a call from a relative of the unidentified man who said he was drinking in their home, threatening suicide and had a gun.

He lhad eft his home by the time deputies arrived and was later confronted inside his vehicle on US-1 near Old Moultrie Road.

The man then rammed a police cruiser with his vehicle, prompting four deputies to open fire. He was struck multiple times pronounced dead at the scene, cops said.

No officers were injured.

Video from the cordoned off scene show the truck encircled by police cars.
