A St. Johns County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement and hitting 100 MPH during the chase last week.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on the morning of September 23, 2025, around 8:40 a.m., when a deputy spotted a motorcycle speeding southbound on County Road 13 South in Elkton while finishing a a nearby call.

The deputy spotted a black sport-style motorcycle with no license plate and a single rider wearing a black full-face helmet, gray shirt, and pants.

After activating emergency lights and sirens, the deputy attempted a traffic stop. At first, the rider appeared unaware of the deputy, but after turning his head to look back, he accelerated to over 100 mph and fled.

The motorcycle disappeared in the distance, but the deputy continued to canvass the area — and later spotted the suspect at a nearby Circle K pumping gas into the bike.

The suspect was placed in handcuffs and admitted to fleeing because he didn’t have a motorcycle license and the bike was not registered, court papers state.

The officer questioned his judgement after the arrest, telling him that he would have only faced a few tickets if he had pulled over.

“Do you know how silly that was?” the deputy told him.

The suspect admitted to making a poor decision.

He now faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, a felony, and no motorcycle endorsement, and no motor vehicle registration, both misdemeanors.

He was transported to the St. Johns County Jail following the arrest.
