Sawgrass Country Club has announced an ambitious $55 million capital upgrade plan aimed at enhancing its facilities and amenities, officials said in a release.
The project, approved by membership this month, represents one of the most significant enhancement campaigns in the club’s five-decade history.
According to an Oct. 22 news release, the project will include the expansion of the fitness center, upgrades to dining and recreational spaces, and a complete overhaul of the club’s 27-hole golf course.

“This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Sawgrass Country Club – one that will elevate the member experience and ensure our facilities continue to reflect the exceptional standards of our community,” management said in a Facebook post.
Highlights include a 7,347-square-foot expansion of the existing fitness center, which will offer updated equipment, improved training areas, and new wellness facilities.
The Beach Club Pavilion and dining area will also be revamped, along the Tennis Pavilion will see 13 new courts.
The golf course renovation will be led by renowned golf course architects Dana Fry and Jason Straka, whose designs are expected to balance the club’s traditional character with modern playability.
Construction will begin in November.
Founded in 1974, Sawgrass Country Club is a private, member-owned facility located at 10034 Golf Club Drive in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The facility hosted the Tournament Players Championship from 1977 to 1981 before the event moved across A1A to the now-famous TPC Sawgrass course.
This new phase of development follows a major $20 million renovation of the main clubhouse completed in 2021.
