Landing tickets to St. Johns County’s signature musical extravaganza isn’t the breezy task it once was.
What began as a modest gathering in a Roscoe Boulevard backyard has since ballooned into a packed annual celebration of songs and songwriters — and demand has lapped supply in recent years.
So in announcing when tickets will go on sale this year, the organizers behind the Roscolusa Music Festival attached a cautionary note to those who think they’ll just get around to it.
“Get your tickets fast,” they wrote on their website. “Cause they’ve sold out the last four years!”
Event manager Steve Nix told The Citizen that the clock ticks even faster for VIP early bird passes. Those prized ducats, he said, are normally dusted within a matter of minutes.
The festival goes down on April 26 at the Nocatee field next to the Splash waterpark. Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Feb. 1.
A portion of Roscolusa’s proceeds goes to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, which assists families grappling with childhood cancer. The event has raised nearly $100,000 for the cause in recent years.
