Cue the Lee Greenwood.
An American flag stolen from a popular Palm Valley eatery has been returned — and the owners are letting bygones be bygones.
Palm Valley Outdoors posted a video last week of a man brazenly making off with the banner that flew at the perimeter of its parking lot and demanded its return.
Pledging not to make a social media spectacle of the Betsy Ross ruffian, the owners said they would bury the hatchet if the flag was simply returned to its rightful place.

Commenters urged the culprit to do the right thing, and he appears to have taken heed.
The eatery issued an update on the cloth controversy over the weekend, saying the item had indeed been safely repatriated to Roscoe Boulevard.

“We’re happy to share that the American Flag has been returned to Palm Valley Outdoors — and we couldn’t be more grateful,” they wrote. “Thank you to everyone who supported us, shared the post, and stood with us.”
They also made good on their promise not to turn the incident into a “Coldplay” situation by outing the flag filcher in any way.
“And to the person who brought it back — no questions, no judgment — you’ll always have a place here with the PVO family,” they wrote.
Placated by the item’s return, commenters commended Palm Valley Outdoors for their graceful handling of the affair.
“Hopefully this little ordeal made whoever it was a better person,” one observer wrote. “That’s all we can hope for.”
