Ta-ta, Lulu.
A defunct restaurant on N. Roscoe Blvd. will soon be demolished to make way for a prominent oil man’s new restaurant and private club.
Successful businessman and prominent conservative figure Alex Cranberg purchased the property in November for $4.1 million, according to records.
A representative for Cranberg told The Citizen in December that he plans to create a public restaurant and adjoining private club on the waterfront parcel.
That process required the razing of the existing structure on the property, Lulu’s restaurant. The eatery shuttered in 2021.
County officials recently signed off on the demolition, paving the way for Cranberg’s Shark Tooth Dining LLC to advance the new concept.
“The owners of Shark Tooth Dining will create an innovative new restaurant and club for Ponte Vedra,” he said in a statement. “Its purpose is to serve the community in an inviting and beautiful space. Its membership will include some of Ponte Vedra’s most interesting and prominent residents and visitors.”
Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, the restaurant will seat a total of 207 guests both indoors and out and that the site will include 69 parking spots.
Cranberg — who spoke alongside vice president elect J.D. Vance and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at a conference last summer — owns a home on Ponte Vedra Blvd after moving from Colorado roughly 11 years ago.
His wife, Cathy Cranberg, holds the chief executive officer position at Aspect Energy.
Cranberg has become a vocal proponent of school choice founded the Alliance for Choice in Education, an organization that has funded more than $100 million in scholarships for low-income students to access private schools.

Not sure if this will be a restaurant for ordinary people or for just the ultra rich. I do not mind paying extra for good food, but will this be just for the ultra rich?
