After years of delays, a restaurant project backed by former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is finally marching toward the end zone in St. Johns County.
Signage has gone up at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, and the franchise says on its website that it’s “coming soon,” after several years of dormancy.
Located at 495 Durbin Pavilion Drive, the 7,500-square-foot restaurant sits directly in front of the Cinemark Durbin Park and XD theater.
“Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is your home away from home in St. Johns,” the brand’s site reads. “Our restaurant and bar offer attention to detail and culinary excellence blended with service that pulls on our Louisiana roots, making you feel like family the moment you walk in.”

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux blends Southern comfort food with game-day classics, offering a menu featuring Cajun-inspired dishes like boudin balls, crawfish étouffée, and shrimp po’boys, alongside burgers, chicken tenders, and loaded fries.
The first Walk-On’s opened its doors on Sept. 9, 2003, near Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium and now boasts 80 restaurants across 15 states.
The Durbin Crossing location will be Florida’s eighth, with the closest locations in Orlando and Tallahassee.
The brand was founded by LSU basketball players Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, with a star-studded list of partners including Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney, along with Brees.
The Hall of Famer rose to stardom as a signal-caller for the New Orleans Saints and won a Super Bowl in 2010.
The former Purdue Boilermaker is also teaming up with Landry to open a mini-burger chain called Smalls, with plans to open just off County Road 210 near the Fountains at St. Johns.
