A splashy new recreational attraction may soon be added to the rapidly growing SilverLeaf community in northwest St. Johns County.
Developers have submitted a pre-application to the county for a project that would transform a two-acre parcel into a family-friendly mini golf destination, The Citizen has learned.
Plans call for the construction of 36 holes of putt play, along with a clubhouse, pavilions, parking areas and utilities.
Site plans indicate that the golfing area would span 31,500 square feet.

The current owner of the property is listed in the application as St. Augustine-based White’s Ford Timber LLC.
The company’s registered agent is Gary Hannon of developer Hutson Companies of St. Augustine.
Legend Engineering of Jacksonville Beach is listed at the project representative.
The mini golf center would be located near the intersection of Silverleaf Drive and St. Johns Parkway, plans state.
SilverLeaf, one of the largest master-planned communities in the region, has seen a quickening pace of development in recent years, with new housing, retail, and recreational amenities coming online.
The project will undergo additional review and permitting before moving forward.
