St. Johns has approved a new Publix location in St. Augustine that will become the popular chain’s 20th county outpost, according to a report.
The chain “where shopping is a pleasure” will build the 48,387-square foot store at Elevation Pointe in St. Augustine, a mixed-use development along Florida 16 across from the St. Augustine Premium Outlets, the Jacksonville Daily Record reported.
The development includes retails stores, town homes and apartments.
As is custom, the new Publix project will include an adjoining liquor store.
The Record reported that a Chase Bank, Circle K and Dutch Bros Coffee are all slated for Elevation Pointe.
Famed for its folksy customer service and Pub Sub sandwiches, Publix predominates locally and across Florida, with nearly 874 locations across the Sunshine State.
The chain is especially prevalent in Nocatee, where two stores sit across the street from each on Crosswater Parkway while another location had been approved for a property 2.2 miles away.
