A private investigator was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at a St. Augustine man while attempting to serve civil papers at the wrong address, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The Duval-based PI now faces a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
According to court documents, she went to a home on North Orange Street on January 24, intending to serve papers for a nearby address.

The startled homeowner saw her rifling through his mailbox and approaching his front door, warrant papers state.
He asked her to leave, but she allegedly refused and questioned whether he lived at the property, asking if the subject of the civil papers resided there.
The affidavit states that she remained on the property despite repeated requests to leave.
The investigator then activated her Meta glasses to record the homeowner. As he moved back toward his home without advancing toward her, she reportedly retrieved a handgun from her open driver’s side door, pointed it at him, and issued verbal threats, officials said.
In subsequent interviews with law enforcement, she admitted she did not identify herself to the homeowner and acknowledged the property she went to was not listed on her paperwork.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office obtained a felony arrest warrant based on probable cause, and she was booked at the Bradford County Jail while attempting to post bail through a local bonding agency.
The case is ongoing.
