A rare, vacant oceanfront parcel along Ponte Vedra Boulevard, owned by a prominent Jacksonville businessman, has hit the market for $8,995,000, according to a new listing.

Located just south of Mickler’s Road, 1141 Ponte Vedra Boulevard spans 1.34 acres and is “one of the highest oceanfront lots in Ponte Vedra Beach,” according to broker Evgeny Gelfandbein.

“This is one of the premier vacant lots in Northeast Florida,” the listing states.

According to county records, the parcel is owned by businessman Lazar Finker of Jacksonville, who purchased the valuable tract for $3.9 million in 2005.

Lazar, who emigrated to the United States from Russian, runs a wide range of companies, several of them involved in the energy industry.

He has also emerged as a prominent philanthropist, and was named as the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Citizen of the Year in 2020 for his contributions to the agency.

The Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation has given to a range of organizations, including the Mayo Clinic and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
