The hurricane arrived early in St. Augustine Wednesday afternoon.

The St. Johns County Sheriffs Office responded to a large-scale brawl at St. Augustine High School, the agency said.

A staff member activated the distress button on their CENTEGIX device that automatically alerts law enforcement of an emergency in progress, SJSO said.

Deputies arrived and quickly separated the battling parties.

No weapons were found at the scene, but several arrests were made.

“This is an active investigation, multiple students will be facing criminal charges and school discipline,” the agency said.
