One of the first homes ever built along Ponte Vedra Beach’s coveted oceanfront stretch has changed hands for $9.3 million.
Built in 1935, 317 Ponte Vedra Boulevard was originally listed for $12 million last September before several price cuts found a buyer.
In the midst of the Great Depression, a group of local businessmen began eyeing the stretch for development.
The area would soon transform from a gritty mining town known as Mineral City into what is now one of Florida’s most preeminent coastal enclaves.
The Ponte Vedra Beach pioneers began building elegant second homes that provided access both to the ocean and the nascent Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
Positioned on a .36-acre lot, the 4,600-square-foot property features 7 bedrooms and 6.5 baths.
The main residence has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large gathering kitchen, and an ”ocean room” with panoramic water views.
According to broker Kim Martin-Fisher, a separate annex was built in 1985 with three guest suites, along with an oceanfront deck and lanai.
