The Publix supermarket chain will add a third Nocatee location roughly two miles from a pair of existing stores across the street from each other.
The county issued permits for a new 49,785-square-foot supermarket, along with a drive-thru pharmacy and adjacent liquor store at 75 Irondale Road at the Marketplace at Nocatee.
The project will cost roughly $14 million.
Famed for its Pub Subs, popcorn chicken, and amiable staff, the Lakeland-based chain will be flanked by two additional retail projects that have not been specified.
Those buildings will span 9,100 and 8,400 square feet.
Publix nabbed the property west of Valley Ridge Blvd. just south of Nocatee Parkway for $6.66 million in May.
There are currently two Publix locations perched across from each other on Crosswater Parkway in the Nocatee Town Center.
One of the two outposts was originally a Greenwise, an organic and specialty food concept that failed to gain traction.
That store was remodeled and transformed into a regular Publix earlier this year.
