Goodbye Greenwise, hello Publix.
The Nocatee Greenwise will officially start transitioing into a second Publix this weekend, store staffers told The Citizen.
The Florida-based supermarket juggernaut is retiring the Greenwise brand, which sought to attract customers in search of organic and specialized products.
“We’re just not making money,” a Nocatee employee said.
Nocatites will now have two Publix locations within a Trevor Lawrence deep ball of each other.
Fans of Greenwise’s popular beer and wine bar will be relieved to hear that the attraction will remain after the transition.
Greenwise’s pizza ovens will go dark, along with the burrito and teriyaki counters. Sushi will remain on the menu.
The hot and cold buffet bars will also vanish, to be replaced by regular shopping aisles.
Workers stressed that the revamp is fluid, and that tweaks will be made as the process continues.
Work began on Saturday and will continue for roughly three months. The location will remain open with minimal disruptions, staffers said.
