The impending sale of Casa Marina, a popular wedding venue in Jacksonville Beach, will likely force the venue to cancel all weddings scheduled for 2026, according to an email sent to stunned couples last week.

“As of January 1st, 2026, the new ownership group will take over and my understanding is Casa Marina will close completely for a complete renovation,” a staffer wrote to clients.

The employee expressed her sympathy for couples who had already scheduled their big day.

“I cannot begin to tell you how heartbroken I am to learn about this potential closure,” the email read. “The general manager and I are sincerely sorry to you and your family for the position this puts you in.”

“I understand what this means to you and your family and I’m at a loss as to how we properly say we’re sorry.”

The venue chose to inform impacte couples early to allow time for them to find alternative plans.

Casa Marina has promised to refund any couples who choose to relocate their weddings and offered to move 2026 weddings to any available dates in 2025.

Built in 1925 Casa Marina was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1993
