A senior community slated to open in Nocatee in 2027 includes a nine-story, 108,000-square-foot apartment building, according to the project’s developer.

Plans for Fleet Landing at Nocatee, which will be open to those 62 and over, are currently under review, with construction scheduled to begin this year.

The company behind the project purchased 35 acres of land in Nocatee’s Duval portion at 555 Cross Town Drive in 2020.

In addition to the apartment building, the campus will also include 17 independent living units in a pair of three-story buildings , along with a three-story memory care facility with 44 one- and two- bedroom units.

Fleet Landing opened similar project in Atlantic Beach in 1990, and said overflow demand for that facility spurred the Nocatee expansion.

Entrance costs for the new site range from $395,000 to $800,000, along with variable monthly fees.

Fleet Landing is what’s known as a Life Plan Community, an increasingly popular model for seniors who want to avoid jarring moves as they get older.

The AARP describes them as a “long-term care option for older people who want to stay in the same place through different phases of the aging process.”

As with their Atlantic Beach location, Fleet Landing offers onsite medical care.

Residents will have access to a range of amenities, including a fitness center, pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and a dog park.

The campus will also feature bike shares and a central greenway that links to the Nocatee Greenway Trails.

A performing arts center and game rooms are also in the works.
