Nease High School and athletic director Chris Mastoridis have mutually agreed to part ways, sources told The Citizen Friday.
Mastoridis declined to comment on the arrangement, other than to confirm that he is no longer in the post.
“I wish all the athletes and coaches nothing but success in the years ahead,” he said.
Mastoridis’ name and bio had been removed from the school website as of Friday morning.
A graduate of St. Augustine High School, Mastoridis went on to play baseball at Flagler College where he earned a degree in physical education and recreational management.
He later worked in healthcare after a move to New York, and opened a pair of baseball training facilities before moving back to Florida.
School sources said the separation took place Thursday afternoon, and that Nease coaches were quickly informed of the change.
Nease has yet to formally announced the shakeup.
The move came days after a special ceremony at the Ponte Vedra school celebrating student athletes who earned scholarships to play in college.
