Administrators at Nease HS told parents in a heart-wrenching email Tuesday that an 11th grade student has died.
“We received heartbreaking news that one of our 11th grade students has passed away,” the note read. “The Nease administration, faculty and staff want to express our sympathy to the family and appreciate any support from our school community as we face this time of intense difficulty.”
The message did not specify a cause of death or gender.
Nease officials said there would be no interruption of classes and that it was important to “resume as normal a routine as possible” as the school community grapples with the loss.
Counselors will be made available to students in need of assistance during this time, the e-mail read.
The news comes just days after a 15-year-old was found dead in Ponte Vedra Beach Monday after being pulled into a riptide Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville Beach.
The drowning victim has not been identified.

Two tragedies – very sad. Are we to conclude that the two unidentified teen deaths might be one and the same?
