The Snowfall State?

Disoriented residents in some Jacksonville neighborhoods woke up to an uncommon sight Wednesday morning — snow.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released a photo of a police cruiser caked in a modest layer of the alien white stuff.

“Looks like some snow has arrived in parts of Jacksonville!” the agency wrote on a Facebook post. “One of our officers took this photo on the Northside.”

The agency reported multiple crashes due to icy roads and ordered the closure of the Main Street and Mathews Bridges.

“Remember, the safest place to be today is at home!” the department wrote. “Please stay off the roads if you are able to.”

Facebook posters reported mild flurries primarily on the town’s north side with many posting pictures and videos of icy windshields and light snowfall.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of the First Coast and Southeast Georgia.

Duval, Clay and Putnam Counties are all in the warning zone in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
