Tomal Bowe, 33, is in custody after a dramatic chase and hours-long manhunt that tore across I-95, International Golf Parkway, and U.S. 1 on Thursday.
Bowe is charged with Felony Fleeing and Eluding, Grand Theft Auto, Resisting Without Violence, Possession of Marijuana, and multiple out-of-county warrants, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The chaos began earlier in the afternoon when deputies attempted a traffic stop on I-95. Bowe allegedly refused to pull over, triggering a pursuit that pushed into the International Golf Parkway corridor.

Deputies executed a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle, but Bowe fled into nearby woods on foot.
investigators say he then stole a van and sped down International Golf Parkway toward U.S. 1, prompting deputies to deploy additional ground units and air support.
The stolen vehicle was ultimately abandoned near Abbotts Way, where K-9 teams, deputies, and multiple aviation units converged to track him through heavy woods and marshland.
Residents in the area described a massive law-enforcement presence—cruisers, helicopters circling overhead, and deputies moving through brush with guns drawn.
Sheriff Robert Hardwick was present at the scene, conferring with colleagues near the disabled vehicle.
Authorities urged people to stay away from the area until the suspect was contained.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Public Affairs Officer Taylor Levesque announced Bowe had been located and arrested without further incident. No injuries to deputies or civilians were reported.
The details of his capture have not been released.
Thursday’s manhunt unfolded just days after an unrelated deadly encounter along a nearby stretch of U.S. 1.
On Tuesday, deputies shot and killed 43-year-old Kristopher Johnson after investigators say he attempted to gun down a coworker and fled responding officers.
