A slice of Florida once owned by a rock legend is now under contract.

Ann Wilson, lead singer of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Heart, appears to have found a buyer for her 12.5-acre Palatka estate on the St. Johns River.

The property, rich in history and Old Florida charm, went under contract this month following a $105,000 price cut.

Wilson, 74, first listed the home in September 2023 for $2 million. After eight months on the market, top local broker Kim Martin-Fisher of Douglas Elliman announced a price reduction to $1.895 million in an April Instagram post.

The final sale price and buyer have not yet been disclosed.

Wilson, 74, purchased the property in 2019 for $885,000. The decision to sell came after she was diagnosed with cancer and canceled a planned tour in 2023. She has since undergone successful chemotherapy and returned to performing.

The Putnam County home is one of the area’s more notable riverfront properties.

Built in the early 1900s, it spans over 4,000 square feet, with three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and 510 feet of river frontage. The surrounding land is heavily wooded with oak and magnolia trees, giving the property the kind of secluded, natural feel often associated with Old Florida.

The home also reflects a quieter chapter in Wilson’s life, far removed from the arenas and amphitheaters where Heart made its name with hits like “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” and “Alone.”

Wilson has sold more than 35 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 alongside her sister and longtime bandmate, Nancy Wilson.

In her real estate listing, Martin-Fisher described the property as “a personal haven for relaxation and inspiration,” noting its blend of history and room for expansion.

The home’s architectural details and river views remain intact, though it is unclear whether the buyer plans to preserve or renovate.

The Citizen will update this story with a final price and, if available, the buyer, when those details emerge.
