Major renovations are planned for the Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club, including replacing the club’s roof and stucco walls, aesthetic upgrades to pedestrian entryways and the addition of second-story porches, according to a county documents.
The refurbishment will shift the building’s style toward a cleaner, modernized take on Mediterranean architecture.
Project documents emphasize reroofing and painting as major components of the renovation that aims to enhance the popular property’s sheen.

If renovations are approved, the club will lose its red roof in favor of a blend of peachy tan and brown, according to project renderings.
Renderings submitted by Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club show the main entrance flower bed being converted into a fountain. The exterior will also be repainted winter white.
Blue tile trim on many parts of the exterior will be removed.
The renderings also suggest the addition of palm trees to the back patio.
The outdoor bar, which sits against the building’s exterior wall, will be reoriented to face it. Porcelain tile will also be added along the walls running parallel to the bar.

Trees, tables and additional seating will be added to the resort’s backyard to accommodate larger events.
The resort’s pool tile will be replaced with a lighter shade of blue. Lounge chairs and patio umbrellas will also be replaced to match the aesthetic change.
Plans also include redesigning patio stairs and adding an elevator to comply with accessibility requirements, according to the application.
Elm Architects will oversee the beautification process. The Jacksonville-based company has worked with private clubs and resorts, including the Florida Yacht Club.

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will host a public hearing to discuss the application. The meeting has not yet been scheduled, according to the Neighborhood Bill of Rights document.
The owner of Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club, Gate Hospitality Group, recently obtained a $44 million permit to renovate Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
