A swimmer died in Jacksonville Beach this weekend after being pulled from the water, according to a report.
The victim was initially taken to a local hospital in critical condition around 3 p.m. before being pronounced dead, First Coast News reported, citing the Jacksonville Beach Fire and Rescue Department.
The swimmer has not been identified.
Department spokesman Maxwell Ervanian told the outlet that there were seven water rescues performed as rough waters took hold on Saturday and Sunday.
Red warning flags are up in Jacksonville Beach to warn residents of ongoing dangerous conditions.
Ervanian said it was his agency’s busiest weekend of the year so far.
This story will be updated as additional details become available.
