St. Augustine’s ever-popular Art Box Gallery & Studios will host a special closing reception honoring featured artist Seth Wheatley on Friday, January 30, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at 137 King Street.
The free, public event marks the final opportunity to view Wheatley’s singular exhibition and includes newly completed illustrations created this month.
The renowned St. Augustine–based wildlife artist has drawn acclaim for his strikingly realistic colored-pencil drawings.

Through layering and painstaking precision, Wheately’s work captures the texture of reptile scales, the plushness of feathers, and the ethereal glow of Florida’s wetlands.
Inspired by the state’s varied ecosystems—from the Everglades to coastal dunes—his subjects also feature exotic birds, big cats, and hoofed mammals.
The evening will also feature live music by Joe Moody, a longtime friend of the artist, along with wine and light appetizers.
Attendees can meet Wheatley in person, discuss his newest pieces, and experience the Old City’s thriving arts scene firsthand in an intimate setting.
