It was TikTokalypse Now.
In an instant, the social media account Nocatee’s Chastity and Elleigh Nolan had built into a 760,000-person army of fandom suddenly went dark.
“We feared something like this for a while,” Chastity told The Citizen of TikTok’s Sunday disappearance. “This amazing community of people we had was gone. Just like that.”
But thanks to some behind the scenes politicking, the embargo was lifted just hours later, and the mother-and-daughter content mavens were back.
The account, Nolan said, hatched from a desire to cement a bond with Elleigh as she navigated middle school.
Tweeners, she knew, can morph from doting to distant seemingly overnight.
“It can be hard for mothers and daughters to have a strong relationship once the kids get to a certain age,” she said. “It can be difficult to connect to your mom. So we really just wanted to create memories and have fun — and at the same time show others that you can have a good healthy bond and spend quality time together.”

They made their first TikTok video in 2020, and posted sporadically in those early years. “We never thought that this would be a business,” the Indiana native said. “We didn’t expect it to grow to become what it is.”
Their initial efforts drew modest traffic, compiling views in the four figures.
But expectations shifted one morning after the Nolans posted a lighthearted video on Elleigh’s first crush.
“I woke up and looked and it had 30,000 views,” she said. “We couldn’t believe it.”
Now, they routinely clock over 1 million views on their posts — with especially viral content amassing tens of millions of clicks.
The playful posts feature Chastity and Elleigh – a freshman in high school — engaged in everyday activities, including getting their nails done together, shopping, or cooking a meal.
“We didn’t take it seriously until 2023, ” she said of their rapid rise. “Then we started posting four times a week or so. But we always tried to keep it simple, to just show us doing things together, having fun. We didn’t want to lose that.”
Publix recognitions became commonplace around town and then well beyond. “Now, people will recognize us when we travel,” she said. “In New York, in California. It’s pretty unbelievable.”
With content that fused generations and resonated with coveted demographics, companies began to take notice of their unique allure.
“It started with an email from a really big company,” she said. “Actually my husband was the first person to see it. He was sort of stunned. We all realized for the first time that this could actually be a business.”
Elated, they signed a one-year deal with the firm — and have since hired a management company to handle their torrent of sponsorship deals.
The lion’s share of TikTok income for major channels, Chastity explained, flows from endorsements as opposed to direct payments from the platform.
While many variables determine payouts, she said a video with roughly 20 million views will earn about $5,000 from TikTok. The significant revenue, she said, comes from brand deals.
“For Elleigh, we see this as her first job,” Chastity said. “Instead of working at Panera, she is creating content and generating income. I think there’s a real value in that, and this has become her passion. It will help her for college, it will help her in whatever she pursues in the future.”

While Nolan said she is fully aware of the many perils of social media, she cautions parents against blanket household bans.
The platforms, she said, are simply a fact of life in 2025 that can’t be ignored out of existence.
“Social media is actually bigger than people realize,” she said. “It’s an amazing starting point for people or for businesses. With kids, as long as you manage their accounts and you know what is going on, I think it can be very safe.”
TikTok, she said, has always been her preferred platform. Chastity asserted the its comment section is far tamer than Instagram’s and that it has better guardrails generally.
While not their primary focus, the mom and daughter still boast a sizable IG following of 263,000 followers along with another 174,000 on their growing YouTube channel.
All told, the Nolan social media legion has surpassed one million followers.
Still, not all the Nolans are comfortable in front of the camera. While she makes an occasional cameo, Elleigh’s 18-year-old sister has little interest in social media notoriety.
Chastity purposefully keeps her younger kids off the channel for the most part because they can’t legitimately consent, she said.
For now, it’s just mom and daughter — discovering sales, sipping Starbucks, and enjoying each other’s company.
They seem to click — in more ways than one.
