A local high school teacher, a land developer, and an OnlyFans model were among 33 people arrested this week during a three-day prostitution sting in St. Johns County, according to court documents.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office led the operation with support from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. Undercover officers used a website known for prostitution-related activity to secure the arrests.

The St. Johns Citizen elected not to name specific defendants for this story.

Charges include prostitution, drug offenses, illegal gun possession, and violations that have triggered human trafficking investigations, SJSO said.

“Prostitution and associated crimes have far-reaching consequences, often involving coercion, trafficking, and other illegal activities,” said Sheriff Robert Hardwick. “This operation demonstrates our commitment to protecting our communities and holding offenders accountable.”

The investigation revealed several patterns connected to prostitution. According to SJSO, these included juveniles soliciting sex, juveniles being trafficked, and people knowingly engaging in sexual activity with individuals carrying sexually transmitted diseases.

Occupations of those arrested varied widely. While many were listed as unemployed, others held jobs across multiple industries.

One man identified himself as a St. Johns County high school English teacher. Another said he worked as a real estate developer. A woman arrested for offering services through the site listed her occupation as “OnlyFans.”

Also arrested were a retired naval officer, a boat mechanic, and a sanitation worker.

Court documents show that many of those who were eventually taken into custody went to great lengths to make sure they were not stepping into a law enforcement trap.

One woman taken into custody during the sting had previously drawn attention in 2016 for leaving her children in a car while shoplifting on Black Friday.

SJSO says the sting was part of an ongoing effort to disrupt criminal networks involved in prostitution and related crimes, including human trafficking and child exploitation.
