The 2024 HGTV Dream Home is back on the market, now listed for $2.7 million, a $700,000 increase from the price it was sold for in September 2024.

Located in the prestigious Pelican Reef neighborhood on Anastasia Island, the home was originally awarded to New York teacher Marie Fratta as part of the popular HGTV Dream Home sweepstakes, according to realtor.com. The lucky winner also got a brand new Mercedes-Benz.

The home, designed by Brian Patrick Flynn, is a short bike ride from Anastasia State Park, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the city’s historic downtown.

But Fratta wasn’t ready to pick up and leave her home state. After receiving the keys, she chose to sell the fully furnished house for $1,999,950. The price point was so appealing that Fratta secured a buyer before the listing went live.

The new buyers, John and Jane Hope, embarked on several upgrades during their brief tenure. John, a former contractor, transformed the 470 square feet of unfinished interior space over the garage into an additional bedroom and bathroom.

The home now boasts 3,594 square feet, which includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The property is located near the Intracoastal Waterway and has an abundance of luxury features, including a resort-style pool, an outdoor kitchen, a dog bath in the garage and two balconies with sweeping water views.

But the Popes tired of St. Augustine’s chilly winters and found a home further south in the Fort Myers area. The sale price includes the homes high-end furnishings, kitchenware and art.

The property’s return to the market comes as real estate demand remains steady in Florida’s upscale coastal communities.

  1. It looks dumb from the aerial, not fitting of the location. At least that contest winner teacher didn’t actually come here. We don’t need any more New Yorkers.
