One of Publix’s largest stores opened right here in St. Johns County Thursday, marking a major addition to the burgeoning SilverLeaf development’s retail profile.
The cavernous new location at 1975 SilverLeaf Parkway spans 55,701 square feet and officially welcomed customers bright and early.
The store raised the curtain on an expanded shopping experience with both traditional grocery departments and several specialty concepts.

“We are thrilled to welcome customers to their new Publix at Silverleaf Market,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager.
“This store showcases some exciting features, including a Pours café where customers can enjoy an acai bowl or smoothie, or order freshly-brewed coffee, a glass of wine or beer and sip while they shop.”

Traditional departments include a full-service deli, produce section with fresh and organic options, scratch bakery, meat department with custom cuts, fresh seafood and a full-service pharmacy.
The deli features international selections like olives, antipastos and more than 200 artisanal cheeses, while the bakery offers cakes, breads and desserts made fresh throughout the day.
Additional prepared food stations include made-to-order burritos, nachos, pizzas, pasta dishes and specialty popcorn with flavors such as cheddar, caramel, dill pickle and Oreo.

As part of its grand opening, Publix is donating $5,000 in non-perishable food items to Epic-Cure, supporting families in need.
The ubiquitous supermarket brand was founded as a single store in 1930 by George W. Jenkins in Winter Haven, Florida, during the height of the Great Depression.
Today, Publix operates over 1,370 stores across eight states: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky.
