Poultry powerhouse Chick-fil-A has its eye on a new St. Johns County location, documents reveal.
The chain wants to erect a 4,714-square-foot restaurant across from The Fountains of St. Johns off of County Road 210 at Moon Bay Parkway.
The proposal — which would include a drive-thru — is still early in the review process.

The ubiquitous brand currently has outposts in St. Augustine and at The Avenues mall, among other local locations.
Chick-fil-A runs two dozen restaurants in North Florida overall and has another one in the works near an incoming Walmart Supercenter off of International Golf Parkway.
Nationally, Chick-fil-A runs more than 3,000 restaurants in 48 states, with 242 of them right here in Florida.
The company hatched in in 1946 when Truett Cathy opened a small diner just outside Atlanta, in Hapeville. There, he created the original chicken sandwich that became the brand’s foundation.
The first official Chick-fil-A opened in 1967 at Greenbriar Mall. The company grew steadily across the Southeast.

Chick-fil-A is best known for its signature menu items, including the classic chicken sandwich—a breaded, pressure-cooked chicken breast on a buttered bun with pickles—is its most iconic item, along with waffle fries and nuggets.
The chain is also popular for its Chick-fil-A Sauce, a sweet and tangy dipping accompaniment, plus milkshakes and breakfast items like chicken biscuits.
