The long-awaited reopening of the Publix grocery store at Anastasia Plaza has a date.
The bagging will begin at 1033 A1A Beach Blvd. on Nov. 13, the supermarket chain announced.
The existing Publix was knocked down last year to make way for a new 54,964 square foot space, up from the previous 48,500 square feet store.

To make room for the larger layout, several neighboring businesses, including Kato, First Vacation Rentals and Rainbow Shades & Apparel were razed and reconstructed as part of the plaza’s total overhaul.
In addition to the new store, the parking lot has been reconfigured to improve traffic flow and increase capacity by 13 spaces, bringing the total to 481.
Once reopened, the Publix is expected to serve as the revitalized anchor of Anastasia Plaza and a key shopping destination for St. Augustine Beach residents, many of whom have awaited its return since its demolition.
Founded in 1930 by George W. Jenkins in Winter Haven, Florida, Publix operates more than 1,300 locations across the Southeast.
The company continues to expand its presence in St. Johns County, with another new store in Nocatee set to open November 15.
When both locations are up and running, the county will host more than 30 Publix stores.
