Few pairings please the palate like cold beer and fresh fish.
That sublime combination will soon be available with the grand opening of Jefe’s Fish Wagon next week at Hornski’s Brewing Co. at 100 Anastasia Blvd., just south of the Bridge of Lions.
The new food truck is the latest concept from Floridian owners Chef Genie and Jeff McNally, whose treks to the Lowcountry of South Carolina, Puerto Rico’s beaches, and other seaside destinations inspired a menu reminiscent of the humble seafood shacks they discovered along the way.
“Genie and I have always connected with people who love good, simple, fresh-from-the-source food,” McNally said. “When we’d take breaks from The Floridian, we’d seek out the spots where locals come to eat and just chill.”

At Jefe’s, diners start by choosing a protein — daily fresh catch, tuna, shrimp, or tofu — and then select a format such as burritos, plates, sandwiches, or salads.
Each entrée comes with one of three signature sides: Hoppin’ John, a small salad, or Hurricane Fries, which are hand-cut fries topped with chippy sauce, chimichurri, and house-made datil-carrot hot sauce.
Additional specialties include “Chips And:” with Pickled Pepper Shrimp brined with lemon, poblano and bell peppers, and sweet onions; Poisson Cru, a tropical-style ceviche with coconut milk and lime; and a vegan-friendly Beet Poke, featuring citrus-cured beets, ponzu, sesame honey, and furikake.
Popular local outpost Hornski’s Brewing Co. offers a family-friendly environment, brewing its own lagers, light Hefeweizens, juicy sours, and hazy IPAs. The tap list also includes guest beers, kombucha, cider, wine, and non-alcoholic options.
Visitors can enjoy vinyl records spinning throughout the day, arcade games, and pool tables. The brewery sits directly across the street from the McNallys’ other new venture, Bea’s Fine Foods + All Day Café.
Jefe’s Fish Wagon will be open daily — Monday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., with extended hours as needed.
